Mrs Bryony McCraw
Head of School
I have worked in Education all my adult life, in both schools and the Arts. I began my teaching career in London, where I worked in Lambeth and Croydon.
Before coming to Barton Park, I worked within the senior leadership team at St Andrew’s CE Primary School in Headington, most recently in the role of Key Stage One Leader.
I believe in child-centred learning and want to create a school where solid educational foundations and creativity go hand-in-hand, enabling all children to grow in confidence and skills.
As a mother of two I know what a central role school plays in a family’s life and I hope that our school will be at the heart of our new, developing community, creating links and enriching lives.
Mr Gareth Griffiths
Executive Headteacher, Primary Schools
I have been working in the Trust since June 2019 as Headteacher at Bayards Hill and through hard work and dedication we see the school go from strength to strength.
In my previous role, I opened a new Primary Free school – Lace Hill Academy – in Buckingham. As Head I worked with the new school community to develop a strong school rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted under his headship.
After 4 years of successful headship I moved on to join CSAT and Bayards Hill Primary School and offer a wealth of experience in opening new and successful schools as I embark on opening Barton Park Primary School in September 2020.
Mrs Amy Jones
Reception Teacher and Early Years Lead
I am passionate about working in education and have completed several qualifications and courses to support my understanding of how children learn best, and what adults can do to facilitate this. I enjoy putting theory into practise to meet the individual needs of all children. I have worked in several different settings with families from many different backgrounds. This has given me a great insight into working closely with families and the community in order to support children’s learning and development.
Year 1/2 Teacher and Key Stage 1 Lead
I love to learn and, as a result, I like to read around the latest educational research and practice. I aim to instil this love of learning and thirst for knowledge in the children I teach.
I am extremely passionate about Education and have a particular interest in reading for pleasure. In 2018, I completed my masters in Children’s Literature at the University of Cambridge. This year, I have been extremely fortunate to have been a teacher judge for the United Kingdom Literacy Association Teacher Book Awards. I can’t wait to bring all of the books I have been reading into the classroom and to enthuse the children about reading.
I am excited to collaborate with our new Barton Park family to develop a creative, child-centred approach to learning that fosters a life-long passion and interest.
I enjoy making learning fun through exciting activities that children love to get stuck in to. Seeing children enjoy their learning through play makes me so happy.
I love taking on new learning to better my practise. I completed my level 3 in childcare and education in July 2018 and started my foundation degree in early years this September. I am looking forward to gaining more practical experience and theoretical knowledge for me to have a better understanding of children and their learning and to positively influence it to the best of my ability.
Hosna is our lunch time supervisor, she helps the children with their lunches, supervises them on the playground and administers first aid as required.
A key part of the school, I am the first point of contact for all visitors, phone calls and e-mails. I hope that the School Office at Barton Park is welcoming and efficient in supporting the whole school community.
